Who weathered the stock market firestorm??

Of this week's winners (ending up on a week when the Dow and NASDAQ composites suffered historic losses), the darlings continue to be OTA Priceline and Search Engine Google, both trading well above $500 per share. 

None of the airlines or car rental companies that we track ended the week up.  In the Cruise category, only Carnival was up. 

In the hotel category, Marriott, Starwood and Hyatt remained in the green and joining Priceline on the OTA front, surprisingly, was Orbitz.  Industry leader Expedia ended the week down. 

Let's hope that next week the market stages a much needed comeback.
